Welcome to Mrs. Kruschke's Art Class (cr-ish-key)
I’m excited for a new school year at Eagle Ridge Academy with the Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classes. I'm blessed to see 24 different classrooms and over 550 students each week. An abundance of great discussions and art projects will be created in my classroom this year!
I am a 2009 graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato earning my Bachelors’ in Art Education focusing on ceramics, printmaking and curriculum design. In my years teaching I have created and taught curriculum from Pre-school to AP High School Art courses and every grade in between; focusing on fine arts, art history and technology courses in the higher grade levels. I'm aware of the anticipated developmental stages for level within art knowledge and skills. Yet, I also understand that students develop at different paces, I will encourage growth in personal skills and interests, and taking ownership of their work as students succeed in art. Before becoming a teacher I enjoyed being a graphic artist for 10 years with my own graphic design business as well as illustrations and acrylic painting. I then supported my husband and co-owned and operated a bakery for 10 years. We live in a small rural town and raised 3 children, and are now blessed with grandchildren. My hobby includes traveling abroad where I assisted with humanitarian services, teach art classes and enjoy the culture and people. I hope to return to Uganda, Africa as well as new destinations like India, Philippians, Europe, and Central America in my future travels. My passion is bringing back each countries art and culture into my art classroom. This opens the eyes of my students to the world and all it's splendor.
I look forward to an amazing year where we'll have many wonderful opportunities to use our imaginations, make mistakes, problem solve, and grow creatively! |
